About Wells Shepherd Huts
Wells Shepherd Huts has grown from a simple idea inspired by the historic late 1800s English Victorian shepherd’s hut from which shepherds tended to their flocks of sheep.
The 21st Century shepherd’s huts have more of a modern use from a glamping hideaway, a home office in the garden, spare bedroom or an addition to a b&b business, an art studio or a writers’ room, or maybe just simply a garden room to enjoy those summer evenings. Their limits are endless.
Ian Wells, founder of Wells Shepherd Huts has been passionate about joinery since the age of five. Ian completed his joinery training in 2002 and worked for a local joinery and carpentry company. Ian opened his own manufacturing and site joinery company but longed to specialise and to build his own Shepherd’s hut after purchasing a late 1800’s original shepherd’s hut back in 2010.
In March 2019 Ian decided that it was time, and he was going to fulfil his dream. Ian, alongside his wife Joanne, made the leap and opened Wells Shepherd Huts. Our mission is to create well designed, passionately crafted Shepherd’s huts using the finest, most authentic, and sustainably sourced materials so our huts are always of the highest quality.
It is much more than a Shepherd’s hut, it’s a lifestyle choice.
